Gary,

An interesting view on Leadership and Effective management. The audio message was clear and convincing. A tough situation - 'If top leadership is currently weak, how likely is that to change'? is explained with expertise.

Thank you and best regards,

Dilip

Companies like Matsushita (now Panasonic), GE, Cargill, Unilever, and the Tata Group and some others are more than 100 years old. These companies did face their ups and downs but survived very well. They had an organizational purpose that extended beyond profits. They believed in progress and development of society and the well-being of people, thereby contributing to the growth of human civilization.

Thank you!

Gary. Your explanation of a Vision and a Mission using Martin Luther King inspiring dream is beautiful and explicit. In visioning exercises with corporate and with students I find it quite challenging to make the audience grasp the essence of a Vision and Mission. I am a great believer in the power of a Vision and its importance to strategy and organizations. This is perhaps because I served under a visionary leader and was privileged to implement his dream. It was here that I discovered that even when the task appears seemingly impossible to implement your own and your group's belief in the Vision makes it happen. Thereafter in my own leadership role in projects as well as in organizations I could use it successfully.

I have your website link on my blog for my students to learn from your articles. Thank you. Dilip

In the current times of the financial crisis many leaders and CEOs are forced to change their strategy in order to come out on the top. They have to adjust to the emerging environment. I read a presentation by Med Yones, a CEO coach. The presentation focuses on CEO strategies and contains IIM Management Model. It’s a model that can help CEOs and managers to set new objectives and track the performance by using strategy and performance metrics. For further details see http://www.ceocoach.us/ceoseminars/ceoseminars_ceostrategymetrics.pdf
